Competition Team Info

We offer several competition team opportunities here at Corps Principals Hawaii. We usually compete in 2-3 competitions on Oahu and 1-3 competitions on the mainland depending on which team(s) you join. All teams are by audition only and must receive a commitment from the student for the year/season to be accepted on the team after the audition process. Students may audition for Either the “Etoile” Ballet team and/or A “Corps” or “Principals” team depending on age. “Etoile” is focused solely on Ballet and will go to at least one mainland Ballet competition as well as the local competitions on Oahu. “Corps” and “principals” will focus on Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Tap and will attend the competitions on island as well as a national competition on the mainland during the summer. (Students will not do a dance for each genre, the teacher will choose 1-3 dances that best suit the teams abilities and strengths). Students must be at least level II for “Corps,” level III for “Principals” and level III for “Etoile”. Auditions are held in September or October for the 2026-27 comp season, and there is a $15 audition fee per student. Competition teams rehearse on Saturdays and must maintain good attendance for all rehearsals as well as regular weekly classes to stay on the team(s). Fees will include monthly rehearsals, Competitions and convention classes, travel, costumes and makeup, accessories etc. We will have group fundraising activities for families that are interested. Audition announcements will be sent out a month before auditions.
